Raising our Game, Embracing a Radical Future: Secondary Schooling in Scotland

Wednesday 23 June (eve) & Thursday 24 June

In 2007 the OECD said the key challenges facing Scottish education were to achieve a broader and more successful participation in upper secondary education and to close the socio/economic achievement gap between and within schools. (Quality and Equity of Schooling in Scotland, OECD 2007).

With upper secondary participation rates behind most comparable countries and the attainment of the bottom 20% unchanged in a decade, is this challenge being addressed with sufficient vigour and urgency?

Will Curriculum for Excellence alone transform the landscape or is it time to embrace a more radical future?

With contributions from inside and out with Scotland, this is an essential education event for school leaders, politicians, policy makers, academics and employers.  Join the debate and have you say.
