The Centre has been established to provide a focus for imaginative and innovative policy debate on the key issues facing Scotland.

We provide an independent forum for organisations and individuals to develop ideas which can be drawn upon by Government and other policy-makers. It aims to ensure that the policy debate reflects the distinctive concerns of Scottish society whilst drawing upon the best of new thinking and new ideas from other countries.

The Centre is independent of political parties and open to relevant policy debate whatever its source.  Its activities are founded on a vision of a society where a modern, vibrant, and sustainable economy is accompanied by fairness and social inclusion.

The Centre has five core policy programmes:

  • City Regions
  • Renewing Democracy
  • Public Service Reform
  • Energy & Environment
  • Europe.

Each programme is led by members of the CSPP Board and Executive team and involve a wide range of experts drawn from across the Scottish body politic.

All programmes are self-financing through partner resourcing, trust support or commerical sponsorship.
