Scottish Government publish Cities agenda.

Following the publication of the Scottish Government's Cities strategy, we have published a report from the Six Cities Dinner that took place in Stirling.

Stirling Six Cities Dinner Report

Commenting on the launch, Policy Director Ross Martin said:

“We welcome the Government’s commitment to and renewed focus on Cities, recognising the importance which we have for some time placed on our six main urban centres and their surrounding regions.

“We particularly welcome the DFM's recognition that our 'cities must determine their own future direction and priorities' and we look forward to continuing to work with the six cities, and candidate city Perth, helping to shape the way ahead with challenging ideas and policy innovations, such as the Infrastructure Investment Fund we have been championing this year.”

Nicola Sturgeon, Cabinet Secretary for Health, Wellbeing and Cities Strategy said:

"The Agenda for Cities will help create the momentum required to make sure that our cities and their regions are able to make the fullest possible contribution to sustained economic recovery - stimulating economic activity and job creation.

"We want to see cities working together, building on their combined strengths to develop strong investment propositions at a scale which will be attractive to potential investors.

"...a key element of our Agenda for Cities [is putting] the leaders of city local authorities in the driving seat, collaborating through a new alliance, supported by the SCDI".
